Daughters look to their mothers as fountains of infinite wisdom. To them, mothers are the strongest women in their lives, there to guide them through life.

Mothers can't know everything, though. They may overlook certain flaws or turn a blind eye to the pressures or cultural changes that society can inflict on a young girl.

Review By: Cheryl C. Malandrinos

"What Your Mother Never Told You" teaches young women about the importance of self-respect, removing themselves from situations they have no business being in, and how to get out if they happen to find themselves in one of those sticky situations. It talks about sex, drugs, alcohol, boys, personal safety, Internet safety, and many other topics that young women must know about in order to survive and thrive in today's world. Dudum should be applauded for his dead-on, practical advice that he shares in a direct manner that young people will appreciate. There's no hand holding going on here, just a straightforward approach that reaches right to the hearts and minds of young women everywhere."

"Sex Infections Found in Quarter of Teenage Girls." There's a headline that gets a parent's attention. And if you are a parent reading The New York Times report, you can't dismiss those findings...After reading the Times article, I looked for a book I might recommend to teenage girls. Most seemed seriously out of touch. One writer seemed to get it --- Richard Dudum, a San Francisco lawyer who's fathered two sons and two daughters...With caveats, here's a book you can give to a teenage girl --- and, if you're a parent, you can profitably read yourself."

"Dudum talks straight, in no-nonsense terms, as an adult figure they can trust. I believe this brilliant and well-written book can help girls to stay true to themselves, and avoid destructive behavior that will mar their reputations or possibly end their lives."

"While no one will mistake his effort for political correctness, the short, easily digested sections are perfect for the text-messaging generation that tends to avoid parental discussions and rely upon unverified information from peers."

"Used as a tool for parents to broach topics with reluctant-to-talk teens or as a guide for them to read on their own, this book is sure to touch lives, inform minds, and even make you smile as you read about how you don't owe him Jack& It is the talk on subjects that might make you blush, but are the must have tools for today's society. "This is a very handy guide with issues discussed that are not so easily spoken about. It helps young girls to have a better understanding of their environment and encourages them to approach their parents or close friends if they feel something is wrong. In addition, it is also an essential guide for parents and teachers, as it can be really helpful in understanding your child/pupil and the problems they face."

Clear-sighted and helpful advice in abundance.
